Java Republic Roasting Company has settled into its new 26 000 sq foot plant in Ballycoolin nine years and one month virtually to the day that Java Republic Roasting Company initially set up business.

Java Republic began trading in September 1999 with BES support and assistance from Bank of Ireland Enterprise Support and Enterprise Ireland. In 2007, the Company raised €1 million through a BES scheme through Cronin & Company Accountants and was backed with €6 million from Bank of Ireland to build its new premises.  The development of the new Roastery will achieve growth through the complete brand experience of the handroasting process and manufacturing which is both unique and educational.

At Java Republic they roast coffee by hand and have an obsession with quality. They source their grade 1 Arabica beans under Coffee with a Conscience which forms part of their Corporate Social Responsibility Programme and they give 11% of our nett profits to back to coffee growing communities.  They also believe that the environment and the day to day running of the business will be better served by building the world’s first carbon neutral coffee roastery.

Java Republic believe that it is essential to show local and international business clientele the passion, care, quality and ethics that they put inot the business through their processes: from the ethical sourcing of Grade 1 Arabica beans, their artisan handroasting process, unique cooling process, trade-first same day packing for freshness, cupping of award-winning coffees, sourcing of real whole leaf teas and lastly training (which is required by good quality foodservice businesses and demanded by quality conscious consumers) to deliver the perfect cup of coffee in an environment that is fresh, relaxing and a showcase to a good business model.
