Update: Mr February 2010

We decided seeing as Stephen was climbing Kilimanjaro in February we'd extend his popularity!  And give you another month of Stephen with updates on his trip up the hill via our Facebook Coffee Break Page. 

We are still collecting money for Crumlin - so if you are in The Roastery Coffee House drop a few coins in the collection tin.

Mr January 2010

Java Republic is known for its friendly staff who are every bit as competitive and full of fun as their CEO.  Some may say that some of the staff out-do the big cheese in the looks department, but hey! you can't have everything!  Tell us whether you think Mr Bell has what it takes to be this month's calendar boy?

Stephen has been part of the Java Republic crew since January 2007 where he joined us from a career in Hotel and Event Catering.  Stephen Bell is our Area Sales Manager for North Dublin.

Stephen seems to be very well connected and always seems to know loads of people - let's face it, he's lots of fun.  However under all that fun lurks a serious side and this is what has landed Stephen as Mr January on our web! 

Stephen will be joining a group of friends on the 14 February 2010 to 24 February 2010 to have a 'relaxing hill climb' up Kilimanjaro and raise funds and awareness for Crumlin Street Children's Hospital.

Fortunately for Stephen he has had lots of training over Christmas and New Year in the snow - nothing like getting ready for the trek up the mountain in freezing conditions!  Kilimanjaro is the highest peak in Africa and stands just under 6000 metres above sea level.  Kilimanjaro is a volcano that has three peaks and from time to time although Kili hasn't popped her top for a good couple of years, she still wheezes volcanic gases.  Let's hope she behaves whilst Stephen is there! 

Stephen will be updating us on his facebook page - we'll also keep updates on the Java Republic Facebook page and website.  We'd like you to drink a cup of coffee to Stephen and support him in sponsoring his progress up the hill.  For those of you that nibble in the Coffee House on a regular basis, we will have some collection tins and will run a small fundraiser so please help Stephen to make a difference to the Crumlin Street Children's Hospital.
