Since starting with Taste the Difference, a distributor of Java Republic Coffee in the midlands, I have a newfound awareness of where our coffee comes from and the journey it's made to get to our shelves, restuarants and cafes.
Coming from working in the foodservice industry sometimes decisions are made on buying coffee for restaurants or cafes can be heavily focussed on price. Unfortunately ethics and quality can become secondary.
My ethical attitude has changed significantly since joining Java Republic by understanding the process that our coffee goes through; from being a cherry growing in origin countries like Sumatra to the popular product in our bright yellow trendy bags that we supply nationwide.
By paying a higher premium for our grade 1 Arabica beans we are ensuring that the farmes that are harvesting our crops are bing paid a fair price and not being exploited in what can be a corrupt business. With this in mind I can be sure that my morning fix of Java Republic Coffee is truly a coffee with a conscience!
