Corporate Social Responsibility
CSR has always formed an important part of Java Republic’s ethos and over the past few years we have supported such diverse causes as Plan Ireland, Carbon Clear & Coffee Kids.
In 2016 we have partnered with a number of CSR projects.
Helping at Home
Our primary CSR Partner for 2016, Carline Learning Centre is a charity that provides a “Safe Harbor” for young people who have found themselves in difficulty. The main focus of the charity is to develop confidence, esteem and coping skills whilst building up an educational portfolio. It is a charity based in our local community & one where we feel we can make a real difference.
As well as financial assistance Java Republic will engage with Carline throughout 2016 to help the charity increase their ability to raise funds through activity. Java Republic will lead a corporate golf day in April with all funds raised going directly to the charity.
Helping in our Communities
For the last number of years Java Republic has been a supporter of Plan Ireland. The charity is a child-centred community development organisation that forms part of Ian International. We will continue to support Plan throughout 2016 as their Coffee Partner for their successful series of Coffee Mornings that help raise much needed funds for Global Emergency Disasters.
Since 2011 Java Republic is a proudly Carbon Neutral company & we are involved with a Carbon Clear Project (Fuel Switch in Brazil), where Carbon Clear invests in carbon reductions in developing countries removing a measurable amount of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere or preventing the initiation of these emissions at source.
Ad Hoc Requests
Like many other businesses, Java Republic regularly receives requests for donations to various charities & organisations. We deal with these requests on a case by case basis but it will always be our instinct to give where appropriate. The majority of these requests take the shape of product donations (hampers of coffee & tea) and annually we donate in excess of €20,000 of product to local organisations.
