From navigating rising global coffee prices to innovating with new packaging and products, 2025 was a year of resilience, adaptability and continued commitment to exceptional coffee.
Here’s a look back at everything we achieved and a look ahead to what’s brewing in 2026.
2025 at a glance
Over 500,000 Kilos Roasted
In 2025, we roasted over 500,000 kilos of coffee, a milestone that reflects both growing demand and our unwavering focus on quality, consistency and craftsmanship at scale.
One of our coffee blends: Cabo Verde was recognised at the Global Coffee Awards, receiving Bronze in the Flat White Dairy category. The competition brought together top roasteries from across Europe, so earning a medal on this international stage was a huge honour for our team.

Our Customers’ Favourite Coffees
Understanding what our customers love allows us to continually delight them while helping our B2B partners optimise their beverage offerings at every opportunity.
- Most popular hot drink: 12oz Cappuccino
- Top iced choice: Iced Latte with syrup
These classics continue to shine, proving that consistently great coffee never goes out of style.
New Packaging for Our Premium & Limited-Edition Range
2025 also saw the launch of our new packaging across our Premium Range and Limited Edition coffees, packaging that feels every bit as special as the coffee itself. With delicate gold foil illustration, every pack shows the visual journey from farm to cup. And it’s not just about looks – the new bags are fully recyclable and are fitted with a resealable zipper to keep your coffee fresh.
Responding to Trends: The Rise of Matcha
One of the biggest beverage trends of 2025 was undoubtedly matcha. With growing demand for functional, wellness-focused drinks, we responded by launching with Matcha Ninja products, giving our customers an on-trend, premium matcha offering that fits seamlessly into modern café menus and appeals to younger demographics.

Sustainability at the Core of Everything We Do
Sustainability remained a central pillar for Java Republic in 2025 and we were proud to receive the following:
- Winner of the 2025 PwC Business Post Sustainable Business Award – Sustainable Medium Business of the Year
- Gold Membership with Origin Green
These achievements reflect years of dedication to ethical sourcing and environmental responsibility.
Origin Trip to Brazil: Supporting Women in Coffee
In 2025, we travelled to Brazil on an origin trip that allowed us to reconnect directly with the farmers behind our beans. During this visit, we were introduced to Donas do Café, an inspiring women-empowerment initiative supporting female coffee producers.
The project supports and celebrates women across every stage of coffee production, providing training, resources and greater visibility within the speciality coffee sector.
Following this trip:
- We switched our Brazilian beans to Donas do Café
- We also moved our decaf coffee to the Donas Decaf Blend
This ensures our sourcing choices actively support women in coffee and create positive impact at origin.
The Coffee Industry in 2025: Rising Prices & Global Challenges
2025 brought significant challenges across the global coffee industry. Rising coffee prices, driven by climate change and unpredictable weather patterns, reduced yields in key growing regions, increased production and shipping costs, and currency fluctuations and supply chain pressures.
These factors combined to create one of the most volatile coffee markets in recent years. Despite this, Java Republic remained resilient. We continued to support our customers through:
- Ongoing training and service support
- Continuous innovation across our range
- Consistently great coffee
Our focus remained on long-term partnerships, transparency and helping our customers navigate a changing market with confidence.
Coffee & Beverage Trends for 2026
As we planned our 2026 seasonal drinks range, we carried out a deep dive into emerging flavour and consumer trends.
1. Healthy & Functional Drinks
The demand for functional beverages shows no signs of slowing down. Matcha continues to lead the way, particularly among wellness-focused Millennials and Gen Z consumers.
2. “Newstalgia” Drinks
Nostalgia is making a comeback… but with a modern twist. Newstalgia drinks evoke childhood memories while offering exciting, updated recipes. Think:
- Creative lemonade-based drinks
- Playful flavour combinations
- Desserts and beverages inspired by classics
Tiramisu, in particular, continues to grow in popularity thanks to its rich flavour, nostalgic comfort and multi-sensory experience.
3. Tropical Escapism & Citrus Profiles

With colder months driving demand for mood-boosting flavours, Tropical Escapism is emerging as a key trend for 2026. Consumers are seeking vibrant profiles that transport them to warmer climates.
Expect to see:
- Citrus-forward flavours like lime, yuzu and lemon
- Bright, refreshing notes incorporated into drinks and desserts
- A focus on freshness, balance and escapism
Looking Ahead to 2026
2025 reminded us that resilience is built through strong partnerships, shared values and an uncompromising focus on quality. As we look ahead to this new year, Java Republic will continue to stand alongside our customers delivering exceptional coffee, embracing innovation and supporting communities at origin. Whatever the future brings, our focus remains the same: great coffee, rooted in sustainability, expertly roasted and enjoyed together.
