Java Republic Acquires The Island Beverage Company

Java Republic is excited to today announce its acquisition in full of The Island Beverage Company, Java Republic’s exclusive Distributor in the South West.

 

The deal will see the existing management team and all employees join Java Republic and continue working with customers in the South West.

 

Managing Director of Java Republic Grace O’Shaughnessy said: “We are delighted to be acquiring The Island Beverage Company, our exclusive Distributor in the South West. We are committed to the coffee market in Ireland and this represents a fantastic opportunity to further our all island approach and invest for growth. Despite the challenges presented by Covid-19, we believe the Irish market represents an exciting opportunity for us and for Cafento as our parent company. In acquiring The Island Beverage Company, we will strengthen our relationship with our customers in the South West, ensuring we can continue to deliver the same excellent service and support. For our customers in the South West and beyond this is a clear statement of our commitment to them and a further demonstration of our all island approach to serving customers with a fantastic premium coffee experience.”

 

Commenting on today’s announcement Kieran White, MD of The Island Beverage Company said: “We are delighted that the Island Beverage Company team will be joining Java Republic. We have been working in partnership for many years and today’s announcement will allow us to bring our local knowledge and sectoral expertise to Java Republic. Given the opportunities that joining Java Republic and Cafento presents, we believe now is an optimal time to join forces.”

 

Java Republic has become one of Ireland’s best-known coffee roasters having brought the world’s first purpose carbon neutral roastery to Ireland. Founded more than 20 years ago, Java Republic supplies coffee to over 1,200 of the country’s most high-profile offices, hotel groups, cafés and corporate catering services.
